TikTok Downloader Not Working? 12 Fixes (2026)
Quick diagnosis: If VideoDownloaderAI isn't working for you, 90% of issues are caused by private videos, wrong URLs, browser cache, or network problems. Scroll to your specific error below.
12 Common Errors & Fixes
"No video formats available" error+
The TikTok video is either private, deleted, region-restricted, or the URL is malformed.
This is the most common error. It means our server cannot access the video file from TikTok's CDN. Causes: (1) The video was deleted by the creator or TikTok. (2) The video is set to private or friends-only. (3) The region where the video was posted blocks access from our US server. (4) You pasted a user profile URL instead of a video URL. Fix: Try a different public video. Ensure the URL ends with /video/ followed by numbers.
Download button does nothing+
Hard-refresh the page (Ctrl+Shift+R) or clear browser cache.
Your browser may be loading an old version of our JavaScript. On Chrome/Edge: press Ctrl+Shift+R (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+R (Mac). On mobile Chrome: go to Settings → Privacy → Clear browsing data → Cached images and files. Then reload the site.
Download speed is extremely slow+
Our server is US-based. If you're in Asia/Africa, try 720p instead of 1024p.
The MP4 file size difference: 1024p ≈ 18-25 MB, 720p ≈ 8-12 MB. Selecting 720p cuts download time by 50-60%. Also check your WiFi signal. If on mobile data, switch to WiFi — TikTok HD files are large and can exhaust data caps.
Downloaded file won't play+
Install VLC Media Player (free). It handles any codec.
TikTok videos use H.264 (AVC) video codec + AAC audio codec. Some default players (especially on Android and older Windows PCs) lack the codec. VLC plays everything. iPhone: VLC is on App Store. Android: VLC on Google Play. Windows/Mac: videolan.org. It's free and has no ads.
iPhone: Can't save to Photos / 'Save to Photos' missing+
Use Safari (not Chrome). Tap Edit Actions in the Share sheet to add 'Save to Photos'.
Chrome on iOS downloads files to its own sandboxed folder, making it hard to move to Photos. Safari integrates with iOS directly. If 'Save to Photos' is missing: tap Share → scroll down → Edit Actions → tap the green + next to 'Save to Photos' → Done. Android: Can't find the downloaded file+
Open Files app → Downloads. Or pull down notification shade and tap the download.
Chrome on Android saves to /storage/emulated/0/Download/ by default. On Samsung: My Files → Downloads. On Pixel: Files by Google → Downloads. On Xiaomi: File Manager → Downloads. The file is named with the video ID (e.g., 1234567890.mp4). If you tapped 'Download' but don't see it, check Chrome's download manager (Chrome menu → Downloads).
Stuck on 'Analyzing...' forever+
Your URL is probably wrong. Make sure it contains /video/ followed by numbers.
Correct URL format: https://www.tiktok.com/@username/video/1234567890. Incorrect formats that fail: (1) Profile page URLs (e.g., /@username). (2) TikTok Lite URLs. (3) Copied from browser address bar while logged in (sometimes adds session parameters). Fix: Open the TikTok app, tap Share → Copy Link, then paste that exact URL.
Downloaded video still has watermark+
Some videos have the watermark burned into the original upload. Most don't.
TikTok adds watermarks in two ways: (1) Dynamic overlay (added by the app/player) — we remove this. (2) Burned-in watermark (part of the original MP4 file uploaded by the creator) — we cannot remove this. If you still see a watermark, the creator likely added it before uploading. Try a different video to confirm.
Website won't load at all+
Check your DNS or try a VPN. Some countries block video downloader domains.
If tiktok.gurubox.ai doesn't load: (1) Check your internet connection. (2) Try a different browser. (3) Disable ad-blockers (some aggressive blockers flag download tools). (4) If in a country with strict internet filtering, try a VPN set to US/EU. (5) Ensure your system time is correct (HTTPS errors occur with wrong time).
Only low resolution available (360p/480p)+
The creator uploaded in low quality. We cannot upscale videos.
We offer the highest resolution TikTok provides for that video. If the creator uploaded in 480p, 1024p is not available. This is common with: (1) Very old TikTok videos (2018-2019). (2) Videos uploaded from low-end phones. (3) Videos re-uploaded multiple times (quality degrades). There's no fix — the source file is low quality.
Hitting rate limit / too many requests+
Wait 10 minutes. We allow 5 downloads per minute per IP to prevent abuse.
If you see a rate limit message, your IP has exceeded 5 downloads in 60 seconds. This is to prevent server overload and ensure fair access. Fix: Wait 10 minutes. If you're on shared WiFi (office/campus), someone else may be using the tool, counting against the same public IP. Try mobile data as a different IP.
Download starts then fails / interrupted+
Large HD files + unstable network = interrupted downloads. Use WiFi, not mobile data.
A 1024p 60-second video is ~20 MB. If your connection drops for even 1 second, the download may fail. Fixes: (1) Use stable WiFi. (2) Download during off-peak hours (avoid 7-10 PM local time). (3) Select 720p instead — smaller file, more resilient. (4) On mobile, disable battery saver mode (it kills background downloads).
